Illustration Friday: Transportation

An inspiration since I'm in Colorado at the moment. Those Rockies still take my breath away!

Backgrounds

Here are the backgrounds that I designed (color by Neville Mckinnie) for our animation for Spring Animation Collaboration class. The actual animation isn't finished yet (my teacher and some of my classmates are still working on it) but it should be ready by fall. Looking at this collection of backgrounds, I'm sure a story isn't coming out. It's about a man stranded on the bad side of Hawaii with some circus seals, one of which that gets sick. After it recuperates it plays it's ukulele at local bars and becomes a big star. Oddly enough it's a true story. Once it's done I'll post it on here.  

Final Animation

Well, it's finally finished, and I FINALLY graduated! Here is my final animation, "This is Phil". My friend Joe Millea did the music for it, and he did a great job! I'm really glad he agreed to do it. I still have some things that I want to edit, but I'm pretty satisfied with how it is now. 

Rough rough rough edit

So this is a rough edit of some of my inbetweening. I have finished it all, but some of it wasn't timing out right, so I'm going to tweek that, and there was also some critiques from my classmates that I'm going to try to fix, and then hopefully soon I will be able to put everything together. But I'm very excited to say that Phil's run is FINISHED so I can now start inking that at least, put it on my demo reel, and get rid of those pencil tests!

Phil can run!

After many many attempts, I am finally able to show you, Phil's run! Most of my animation is now inbetweened, and then I'll just ink it, edit it, ad the music (by Mr. Joe Millea) and I'll be done. I'm also making a 4 foot tall teddy bear to go with the senior show, and a concept art book. Wow, when you write it all down it's a little overwhelming. Hmm, I think I'll be happy once this is all over.
